I have a PhD in computer science and computational biology from MIT CSAIL, completed a postdoc at Harvard Medical School, and have 30 years of experience in software development. I received a TED Fellowship in 2011, a Feast Fellowship in 2013, and was part of the inaugural class of Singularity University in 2009. I currently work in the Google Accelerated Science team, whose mandate is to accelerate scientific research by providing engineering expertise and computational resources to promising collaborators in academia and industry. I previously worked at Google on statistical semantics, AI and NLP, helping found Ray Kurzweil's artificial intelligence team. I am developing a system for automatic parallelization to solve the multicore dilemma.
